Launching our 2026 Manifesto
Enfield Liberal Democrats are proud to announce our manifesto for the local elections in May 2026. This represents our commitment to continue the work we're already doing in Enfield holding the council to account.

The Lib Dem 10-Point Plan for Enfield:
- Get better schools and nurseries
- Open high-quality, low-cost nurseries in town centres using vacant or underused properties.
- Ensure every neighbourhood has local state-funded primary and secondary schools, and work with schools to recruit and retain staff and improve teaching. - Get health and social care that works
- Encourage more GP practices to open and improve access to physical and mental health services.
- Fight hunger with a food programme for everyone and support breakfast clubs. - Get cleaner streets
- Bring back public litter bins and increase bin capacity and collection frequency.
- Set up a new Street Environment Service to tackle fly-tipping, vermin and illegal parking. - Get transport that works
- Add step-free access at every station and make pedestrian crossings safer for families.
- Fix roads and improve bus routes. - Get homes people can afford
- Expand council-led housebuilding, bring empty homes back into use, and make developers deliver affordable homes.
- Review planning and housing standards to support affordable, high-quality housing for young people and families. - Get our high streets back
- Bring empty shops back into use.
- Offer business rate discounts to small and medium-sized firms that hire local people. - Get better recycling and an end to green waste charge
- Increase access to larger bins for flats and cut the green waste charge.
- Open a second recycling centre. - Get cleaner air and protect the Green Belt
- Protect Green Belt land and green spaces from unnecessary building.
- Plant trees and hedges to shield residents from pollution and absorb CO2. - Get safer streets and stronger communities
- Strengthen neighbourhood policing, renew police equipment, and tackle burglary and violent crime.
- Invest in youth and community projects and tackle domestic abuse. - Get your voice heard
- Offer both in-person and virtual surgeries with Lib Dem councillors.
- Involve residents in policymaking.
