Lib Dem Boroughs Freeze Council Tax

The residents of Enfield have endured above-inflation increases to their Council Tax bills for the past ten years under both Labour and Conservative Councils.

At the same time, they have had to put up with cut-backs to their Council services and a decline in quality and value for money.

In contrast, Lib Dem Councils across London in Islington, Lambeth and Southwark have all announced zero per cent Council Tax increases in 2006/7. At the same time they have managed to turn around what were some of the worst performing boroughs in London.

We are determined to adopt the best practices from the many Lib Dem Councils across the country to make Southgate and the whole of Enfield a better and more prosperous place for all of us to live.
