It was overgrown and the badly worn tarmac was becoming dangerous for less sure-footed residents. We contacted the Council and they replaced the tarmac and ensured that the overgrowth was removed. Local campaigner Paul D Smith has spent the last 5 months chasing Thames Water and they have finally fixed a leak. Despite park users knowing about the colony, the Council knew nothing about it until Enfield Liberal Democrats informed Pest Control. The rats in the park are now gone, but they'd already spread into surrounding gardens and houses. Unfortunately the Liberal democrat candidate, David Peters, didn't win the seat. The turnout was a lowly 24.8% - boasted by 56% of postal voters returning their ballot papers.
